Our History

Culbert Realty grew out of the entrepreneurial spirit and drive of Carl B. Anderson, who, at the age of 8, emigrated from Sweden in 1913. Through self-education and many pursuits, his greatest legacy was building affordable housing for families in the Midway area of Virginia after WWII. He helped many people become first-time homeowners.

From this, his son-in-law, Walter Culbert, began a career in real estate, and Culbert Realty was established in 1959. Walt’s son, Walter “Bill” Culbert, Jr., joined his father in the business in 1970. They cultivated a committed and professional staff of real estate agents and together they listed and sold homes and provided appraisal services throughout the Iron Range with office locations in Virginia, Cook, Tower, Babbitt, Ely, and Hibbing. Bill’s wife, Chris, joined the firm in 1988 and soon became the Broker.

Culbert Realty continues its mission of providing quality real estate services through the 4th generation of the Culbert Family, with daughter, Kimberly Culbert Blaeser (Broker, Owner) and sister, Nicole Culbert Dahl, Realtor, along with a staff of dedicated and caring Realtors. We are proud to carry on the tradition of helping people in the Iron Range community achieve their real estate dreams and goals.
